Exercise Right Week: Staying Active In Brisbane

This year’ theme for Exercise Right Week is “Motivation To Move” and we’re joining the conversation. We personally believe that movement is the best medicine and want to let you in on some super easy ways to stay active in Brisbane. Ready to make your move?

We get it, it can be challenging fitting exercise into your busy routine. Sometimes it feels like we don’t have enough time in our day to start with. We want to change that. This is an opportunity for you to challenge yourself to move. It could be as simple as incorporating it into your everyday lifestyle.

In Brisbane we have access to some incredible walking tracks, the weather is perfection 80% of the year, and we have a safe environment to enjoy exercise outdoors. Here are some simple steps to take to help you stay active in Brisbane.

1. Take the stairs

It’s as simple as that. Choose the stairs if your body is capable. Doing so every day is a simple but effective way to get into a healthier habit. Increase your heart rate, strengthen your quads and glutes with a simple choice on your way to work.

2. Walk the dog

If you have a dog then you know how much energy they have. Show yourself and your pet a little extra love by walking down to one of the many great Brisbane parks or along the Brisbane river with your pooch.

3. Family day out

Taking the kids out for the day is a great way to stay active and set a good example for your children. Enjoy one of the many markets or events along Southbank, head to a theme park on the Gold Coast, or park at the bottom of Mt Cootha and walk up to Kuta Cafe for a well-deserved hot chocolate.

4. Join a Sports Club

Joining a sports team is a great way to stay active. Pivotal Motion partners with many sporting clubs to help them enhance their performance, and reduce risk of injury. Currently we’re in the season of QLD Netball, AFL, Rugby Union, and Rugby League.
